Parents,
Thank you for allowing your scholar to be a part of our leadership organization. We eagerly await the opportunity to work with you and your student over the next eight months.
Our organization was derived for an increasing need to help students better achieve academically and socially at J. L. Long. Our district, Dallas ISD, began its' efforts to close the achievement gaps between our African-American students and other subgroups years ago, but "there’s still a critical need to accelerate our efforts so that all students will experience academic success.”
As an organization, we are here to serve and foster our students desire to learn and become well-rounded, kind individuals.
Below is an outline of our organization and a permission slip. If you would like your student to participate, please complete the permission slip and send back to campus. If you have questions about the organization, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Please note, though our organization was created as a safe space for African-American students, ALL students are welcome to join.
